(Also fyi, most of them actually appear in this fic of mine, if ur interested!!)

From oldest to youngest:

Daniela: The Eldest, she was always incredible smart for her age (some might even say gifted) and took her studies seriously. Her siblings (the ones that remember her, anyway) will tell you she was bossy growing up, but mellowed out during her teenage years. In reality, she was dealing with a big case of Eldest Daughter Syndrome, before a burn out led her to stop giving much of a damn about her siblings, focusing all her energy in school instead. Her efforts paid off, as she got a full scholarship to a very great university. She's currently a lawyer, makes good money, sends some to her parents. Calls them sometimes. She communicates with her siblings less than with their parents, which is to say not at all.

Dingo: You know him, you love him!! Dingo 'Starr' LaRue became well known as the drummer of the Wolf Pack 5, which is fortunate since (in sharp contrast with his sister) he never did well in school. He started being interested in music and specifically drumming early on, something he tried to share with his family, yet the only one who got as interested as him was Dook. This led to him having an obvious favorite sibling, altho no one really cared much as the only thing he talked about is music anyways. With the Wolf Pack breaking up and Dook taking up as the drummer in their succesor band, Dingo took a chance and moved to London to pursue bigger opportunities. He makes definately less money than Dani, but still sends what he can to his parents. He also keeps in contact with his siblings, especially Dook.

Dook: The other family musician, Dook is currently the oldest of his siblings still in town. Even tho he no longer lives at home, he still sees his family regularly, especially since his youngest siblings like to go hang out at Showbiz. They all also flex their status of having their brother in the band as much as they can, much to Dook's chagrin. While he used to be pretty much a copy of Dingo, he's really come into his own since joining the band, especially when he decided to be more outspoken about his lifelong space obsession.

Damian: Fun fact: Did you know that siblings born within a year of each other are usually called Irish twins? Well, that's what Dook and Damian are! With only a measly 10-month difference between them, Dook and Damian were attached at the hip growing up. As a matter of fact, they're BOTH obsessed with space, something that definetely has nothing to do with the cartoons they watched as kids. They started to grow differences in their personal likes and dislikes as they grew up, but they both know they have each other when it really matters. Like for example, whenever Dook needed help with his homework, since Damian just so happened to be pretty smart and good at school (tho not at Dani's level). Damian is currently a nurse, and a pretty good one that gets more than a few calls when someone in the family is hurt. Although he denies it, he too flexes his status as Dook's brothers, mostly when dealing with scared children getting their shots. (If he has to lie a bit about how brave Dook was when getting his own as a kid, well no one has to know)

Dilan and Dina: You've heard of Irish twins, now get ready for actual twins! Dina and Dilan were unexpected, but still pretty much loved. Much like Dook and Damian, they were inseparable growing up, before slowly starting to break apart as they entered teenagehood. A first in their family, they're neither academically nor musically inclined, instead being aced at sports, with Dina as captain of the school's volleyball team, Dilan as the school's soccer team main scorer, and BOTH as the MVPs of the track team. These two are going places!

Dexter: A very sweet kid, most ppl wouldn't guess that thanks to his aloof nature, all-black clothing, and emo fringe. The quietest of a very loud family, at first glance he might seem like the black sheep, but he's actually very loved by them all, and he loves them in return. It might seem like he's not really interested in anything but begging his parents to let him get some piercings (not until he's 18), but he actually loves music!! ...Just, he happens to be more inclined towards the keyboard than drums, which might or might not make him nervous about bringing it up. So far, his shyness only really allows him to go to Showbiz to stare at the Tune Machine and give Fatz a few scares, but one of these days he's gonna work up the courage to ask him for lessons! ...Someday soon! ...Maybe!

Diana: And now we've come to the baby of the bunch! Despite still being a toddler, Diana is a little spitfire who learned to talk pretty early on, and talk she does, about everything! The weather, her toys, her family, what she sees in TV, that one crack on the wall... she never stops! It might get annoying some times, but one look at her puppy eyes has everyone listening with rapt attention.

my really awful rolfe headcanons but they get worse and more deranged

- rolfe is insecure because of his brother wolfman (/hc), since wolfman is perfect and rolfe can barely even make it through a comedy bit

-rolfe is autistic, but masks a lot because of how he was raised. primarily stims by kicking his legs, wagging his tail and doing that thing that he does with his eyes. when he blinks one eye at a time😭

- rolfe is trans sorry . and so is beach bear!! i like to think the two met when rolfe was still in highschool (rolfe met beach through wolfman) , and beach bear bought rolfe his first binder. rolfe joined the rockafire explosion when they found him fighting for his life at a comedy club. rolfe refuses to talk about his highschool years even to beach bear. he still wears a binder

- i ship rolfe with 3 mfs😭 earl fatz or beach bear . take your pick zawwg. i do think that earl and rolfe had a situationship a few times. how does that work ? up to interpretation!!!!

- rolfe stands in a spirit halloween and acts like an animatronic (ironic) to scare kids

- he has like 80 different emails and all of them are used either for free trials or to make fake fan accounts and act like girls swooning over him

Rolfe Dewolfe Headcanons!

He is my current microwave blorbo (he is rotating around in my brain rn) and I have many thoughts about him!

This post is sfw of course!

He has a huge inferiority complex and some major ego issues. Bro is a little delulu but we love that.

I headcanon that Wolfman (lead singer of The Wolf Pack 5) is his older brother. This is where a large majority of his insecurities stem from, as his brother is far more well-liked and successful than he is.

He struggles to emulate Wolfman’s natural charm and charisma, so his attempts come off as forced and disingenuous as a result… Just ✨neurodivergent things✨

Not a headcanon but he forged prescriptions for pain medication???? Back pain allegedly, according to the Smitty’s introduction tape at least. Perhaps he’s a chronic pain king who couldn’t afford them!

I know it’s heavily implied that Earle is his own entity and whatnot, but I personally prefer the idea that Rolfe is just using his puppet to vent his frustrations with… Well, himself! It’s his own way of trying to tell people he’s self aware, but everyone seems to take his outlandish persona seriously…

Going based on that headcanon, he’d have to have some good vocal range too. His singing voice might not be the best but he’s definitely got some good impressions up his sleeve.

He’s funnier when he’s being authentic and not trying to be funny, if that makes sense. His jokes on stage are all very corny but behind the scenes I think he has his own unique sense of humor that the others often miss out on.

He loves disco. Canon technically, but it’s cute enough to mention. He was probably going to a lot of discotechs back when he was younger, since he was likely a young man during the time period in which disco would be relevant.

Age wise I feel like he’d be somewhere in his 30s-40s. Gray is a common color for wolves but he gives washed up celebrity vibes, yk?

He could wear shoes but he chooses not to wear them, it’s a sensory thing. He doesn’t like how constricting they feel, and I’d imagine it’d be hard finding shoes in his size anyway.

He’s the typa fella to go to sleep with that old ahh nightgown and the long droopy hat and comically flap his jowls when he snores.

Him and Fats bicker a lot but I think it’s mostly playful banter, they’re the kind of friends who start fake beef with each other just for fun. Fats is probably the one he’s closest to out of the band members, since they have a mutual understanding of one another and what makes each other tick.

Absolutely a terrible shopper. Do not send him to the store (even with a list), he will buy the most expensive versions of everything and a bunch of stuff you didn’t ask for (he only wants the best for you but he can’t keep paying 50$ for orange juice 😭).

In denial about his wrinkles. He’s still fresh as a daisy, or at least that’s what he tells you. His rosy cheeks are real though, no makeup needed for those.

If he gets frustrated enough he’ll do that dog thing that’s not a growl but a little bit of a low rumble.

In high school, he was the “weird puppet guy.” It was like every social interaction with him was a dry run for his future standup routines, he’d never talk to anyone without Earle also being involved in the conversation. It was a comfort thing for him, and it made interacting with others easier, but most people thought he was just weird for it. Once again I say ✨neurodivergent things✨

Avid vest and bowtie collector of course. He’s like Saul Goodman if he didn’t wear pants.

He knows how to play some weirdly specific instrument that sadly wouldn’t fit in with the rest of the bands lineup, but it’s something you’d never know until you’re like shopping for a replacement for your instrument and you see him trot over to a fucking theremin and start making some alien invasion ahh music

I think as a kid Beach Bear was just naturally good at a lot of things, and he found them FUN, too! Swimming, strings (instruments), and singing! Nice and enjoyable hobbies for a kid to have!

I like to think his parents really leaned into this, getting him swim lessons, on swim team, music lessons, and competitions. It was fun for a while, but eventually it just felt like A Lot to him.

All of this made what could be fun hobbies instead turn into work and requirements, and that really ruined the fun for him.

Sometime in his teenage years he got really rebellious and dropped both swimming and music, saying they were stupid and a waste of time.

Basically being Good At Things made his parents push them on him really hard, and ruined everything fun about them.

At least we know as he got older he was able to come back around to enjoying the things he did as a kid, now on his own terms and without his parents pushing them on him!

Ok so my biggest hc here not only re:this ship but also in general to the rockafire is that Earl is. Not actually a puppet lol??? But yeah my hc is that he's like. A monster type dude similar to Mr Munch basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ like in general my hcs for the rockafire rely a bit on their world running on magical realism rules, where ppl see things that we'd think Odd as ordinary. Like random furry monsters just existing lol. But anyways. Continuing w that, Earl's Specific Brand Of Creature™ is just naturally tiny and light, ergo why Rolfe can just. Swing him around like that 😭 also as I mentioned in this fic, he's also very feline like and can purr, among other things!!! Going onto the shippy aspect, as i wrote on the afromentioned fic, Earl's purring is one sure fire way to calm Rolfe down if he's having a hard time 💖💖 the downsize tho is that Earl doesn't like doing it in public :/ so it's really a thing just for the two of them

(Eventually Earl becomes trusting enough to do it around the rest of the band, but everytime he realizes he's doing it he threatens them to not go around saying it. They all agree but tbf its like an open secret at this point 😭)

Anyways, all this to say Earl had a Whole life before meeting Rolfe. And i think they had a Very Funny meet 'cute' where Earl was like. A server at a comedy club Rolfe decided to do stand up at (i think its funny if Rolfe used to do stand up by himself and SUCKED at it) and Rolfe was so bad even Earl started heckling him while waiting tables and Rolfe was SO offended bc what does this lowlife server know about comedy??? So they started to trade barbs back and forth and everyone else in the club thought it was HILARIOUS and even some ppl started wondering if it was all part of some Really Funny Bit and they had agreed to do this beforehand but. No lmao they literally just Have Chemistry when it comes to comedy. Anyways eventually Rolfe's time ran out and he was thinking like 'oh great i wasted my whole time fighting with this rando i'm gonna get booed off again-' but nah fam he was cheered on bc the fight was HILARIOUS. Rolfe wondered wtf was up but when he noticed ppl praising a very confused Earl he wised up about it and asked him if he wanted to do an act together and. Earl said No. So Rolfe just began going to the club to BEG Earl to be on his act it was High Key Pathetic 😭 but Earl did eventually agree (mostly bc word spread out abt the funny 'comedian vs server' act and the club threatened to fire Earl if he didn't do it again :'D) so yeah they eventually began hanging out outside the club, at first just to keep working on their act but eventually they started liking each others company. Like they Don't Agree with each other in a BUNCH of stuff but they could Argue about it in a fun way and they both enjoyed it. And when they Did agree it was also fun like they could talk for HOURS.

Yeah the thing is, living together and being close as they were eventually their feelings wandered into a more Flirty spot and (without quite meaning to) they began putting into their act to the point everyone was like 🤨🏳️‍🌈❓️ at them. And the club owners turned out to be... pretty fucking homophobic!!! So one day they were just like 'we know what you are' and dead up fired them. Probably called them some slurs on their way out too 😭 and the funny thing is Rolfe and Earl hadn't even NOTICED they were being flirty with each other so they were SHOOKED and frankly very fucking pissed off. They just made it back into their apartment like

Another thing that def helped their bond it's that they were both deeply lonely people and had like No Friends??? So in my hc Rolfe had a pretty awful home life and grew up Very Isolated so yeah. His social skills consisted on acting like he was better than anyone else then being Shocked when that resulted in ppl finding him annoying. And Earl once again i have a Whole Headcanon but tl;dr is that he's from Argentina (like me hi i like projecting 👋) and back then thing's were... Not Great™ so he had to leave and rebuild his life somewhere else and it was HARD and he was also Grumpy about having to move in the first place so yeah 😬 suddenly tho they found each other and become Close Acquaintes, maybe even Friends??? Dare i say even Close Friends??? It got to the point that they decided to move in together to save up on rent and work more on their act and stuff. And they were Pretty Good at it too!!! Everything was going well... maybe too well...

Earl: Yeah i mean wtf are they on?? We're not dating???

I do think they didn't sit down to discuss the Terms of their relationship until MUCH later, so they never really called each themselves boyfriends or anything. They just had an Unspoken Thing™ and they figured it out as they went.

Anyways, they stayed in that town for a while and began doing their act at different clubs (changing it as they went from 'server vs comedian' to 'audience member vs comedian' bc several clubs weren't willing to let Earl act as if he worked there) but the past club owners kept spreading rumors abt them so eventually no club in town would take them :/ so they decided 'actually fuck this town' and just. Got into a van to go around the country as a traveling act. And they did very well!!!! They def had their ups and downs but it was mostly positives. At one point they ended in a club that had a STRICT 'the comedians must stay only on stage' that they weren't told about until last second so they had to change their WHOLE act with a few minutes to spare.

Rolfe: Wait hold up i have an idea... ✨️puppet✨️

Earl: Fuck off i'm not pretending to be a puppet-

That act ended up being a MASSIVE success tho so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Earl had to learn to cope

But then one day they stopped at a Showbiz place and meet Wolfman (as mentioned in my fic, he's Rolfe's older brother who he lost contact with) and well. Rolfe and Wolfman had a pretty emotional encounter and Earl decided it was better if they stayed 'just for a while'. Before they knew it they were helping Wolfman's bestie (Fatz) on making a new band since the WP5 was breaking up and they had a whole STAGE for themselves and yknow what maybe they could stay for a while longer...

3 years and a shared house later: Wait shit. We're Attached now.

ANYWAYS this thing devolved into a whole origin story huh 😭 lemme drop some actual hcs here real quick

Rolfe is older than Earl by like 2 yrs (i usually write Rolfe as 37 and Earl as 35, for reference)

Rolfe is the most physically affectionate of the two, he has an habit of getting Affection Zommies™ (term coined by my girlfriend) and just. Picking up Earl to cuddle him or squeeze him or nuzzle him 🥹 and Earl just rolls with it like "oh i'm being pick up. Ok then." It's like the meme of 'came home drunk last night and got too happy to see my cat' yknow

They both smoke, but Rolfe smokes those v long and 'softer' ones while Earl smokes a heavier type (Earl probably smokes weed too on accasion). Anyways, point is, they 100% do that 'leaning really close to light up their cig with the one their partner is smoking' thing like. ALL THE TIME. And everyone thinks they're being romantic but in reality they started doing it to make their lighters last longer 😭

They lowkey have a ratatouille style system to cooking?? Like Rolfe is ok at cooking but NEEDS the recipe. On the flipside Earl has a hard time cooking bc of his side but he just Gets cooking like he can eyeball and improv things and ends up with fantastic stuff. So what they usually do is Rolfe cooks while Earl watches him and gives him indications. And yes, their system works

They're both v good with children!!! And actually like them!!! It wasn't a huge sacrifice for them to change their act to make it more kid friendly. They're also not bad babysitters.

Rolfe loves sewing and clothing design and the like. It can be hard to find stuff Earl's size, so he'll sometimes make him clothes

(Half the time is stuff not really Earl's style but is the thought that counts?)

Rolfe LOVES Earl's voice he thinks he's the best singer in the band and is constantly trying to get him more songs. Earl himself doesn't think he's that good, but he does like to sing and has fun w it so he's also not complaining.

Even tho they usually write their skits beforehand, they're also p good at improv if things go wrong. For ex. the Frank Sinatra skit was meant to have a different ending where the song went without an hitch, but then Technical Difficulties happened and they had to run with it

Earl wont admit it but he genuinaly likes how soft and fluffy Rolfe is.... world hard and cold, fur soft and warm ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝)

On that note, Earl has an habit of kneading on Rolfe without meaning to (cat-like creature babeeeeyyy). Rolfe feels flattered every time it happens so he doesn't say anything, even if he might ocasionally get Poked at by claws (yes Earl has retractile claws)

I said this earlier, but Rolfe's parents are pretty garbage. They keep sending Rolfe letters trying to guilt him into taking care of them (send them money), and they can cause Rolfe to spiral. Earl's solution is to check for them constantly and shred them whenever he sees them. He just takes his claws to them and goes wild

If Earl ever meets Rolfe's parents, heads will roll

They're both also very aware of each other's issues/trauma, since they were all they had for a while they ended up accidentally trauma dumping on each other early on.

Yknow that one trope where the tall partner lets stuff in high shelves so the short one has to ask them for help? Yeah Rolfe's the complete opposite. He tries makes sure everything is accesible to Earl, esp if it's stuff he uses constantly

They're both pretty early risers, with the difference Rolfe also has an habit of staying up late. As a result, Rolfe is usually a zombie in the mornings before he gets his caffeine dose. Earl ends up trying to make sure he doesn't get himself hurt by running into walls or smthn

Looney Bird: Has tons of siblings. Accidentally ate chicken once; he cried. Likes wearing socks. Is actually really good at playing sports. He once sung so high a window shattered. Is a Mama’s Boy. Age: 20

Beach Bear: Has dated over 30 women. Showed up in a magazine once, so he brags about it any chance he can gets. Is a pescatarian. Got a speeding ticket. Got his first guitar at 14. He went 2 grades up; big brain Age: 28

Dook LaRue: Has a speech impediment and can only speak clearly while singing (not entirely a lie) Has autism. Can’t drive for his life. His grandpa is Dingo Star. Has the goofiest laugh. Hates tomatoes so always eats pesto or Alfredo pizza. Secretly hoping to go to space. Age: 25

Mitzi Mozzarella: Entered beauty pageants when she was six. Has a Michael Jackson cardboard cut out and kisses it goodnight. Is actually a natural brunette but dyed her hair blonde. She went to cheer camp as a dare but ended up liking it a lot. She forces band members to do tricks with her like flips and stuff; mostly Beach Bear Age: 17

Fatz Geronimo: Played in jazz clubs before joining the Rockafire Explosion. Loves scented candles. Drinks a lot of coffee, a little too much for his own good. Was muscular once before letting himself go during in his early 40’s. Met Esmeralda in middle school. Casually met Elton John at the grocery store and didn’t notice it until Mitzi showed him a picture. Age: 55

Rolfe DeWolfe & Earl Schmerle: During his 20’s he used to do puppet shows at schools and hospitals for money. Has an older brother but they don’t talk to each other; family issues. Is gay but doesn’t admit it ( Rolfe, it’s extremely obvious bud) Earl is his somewhat adopted son. Is actually a great cook. Been to jail for shoplifting. Stole Mitzi’s nail polish once, she still has no idea it was him. Son of the Great Wolfman Jack himself! Cries everytime Earl heads to school. Sings girly songs at home like “Girls just want to have fun and Material Girl” Earl’s favorite food is jam on toast. He hates personal hygiene and has constant tantrums whenever it’s bath time. Pretended to have a seizure to see how Rolfe would react but after he saw Rolfe calling 911, he called it quits ( he was grounded for a week) Rolfe Age: 34. Earl Age: 3 1/2

i saw a post about another media i wasnt familiar with (i think it was in stars and time?) talking about the group's dynamic as like. it's found family but in a way that specifically rejects the traditional family roles- ie there doesn't have to be a "mom" and a "child" or any other named role for individual people, just their closeness is enough on its own to make them family. and i think that's how i feel about the rockafire a bit! like tbf i do think mitzi has a sibling-like relationship w beach bear and dook but that's kinda the only named relationship i feel even a bit strongly about lol. i feel like i can't think of any rae character without also thinking of how i like their dynamic with at least one other character, the way each character interacts with the others strengthens their own personality and i think thats super cool. i love those guys
